JumpSport 250 Fitness Trampoline is very easy to assemble, durable and offers a good bounce. This is what we highly-recommend if this is your first time buying one and are serious about rebounding.
Regardless of its premium pricing, this model continues to be a popular choice. Is it really better than similar rebounders which are $50 and below only?
The quick answer is yes. This fitness trampoline is worth buying because its “quality” sets it apart from the rest. Read the rest of this detailed review as I reveal in the next section the intricate details of this rebounder.
JumpSport 250 Fitness Trampoline Review
JumpSport 250 Fitness Trampoline is a very sturdy rebounder that is designed to accommodate high-intensity workouts. As a matter of fact, some professional fitness instructors and gyms use this same model for their exercise programs.
There are 2 unique features that set this trampoline apart from its competitors. These are the patented petal cover and the No-Tip arched legs. It is powered by elastic bungee cords instead of the usual springs.
While JumpSport 250 may seem to be the be-all-end-all of all fitness trampoline models, it is actually not. There are also some limitations that you need to be aware of before making a purchase. That is exactly what I will be revealing in the next sections as well.
Weight Limit
JumpSport 250 fitness trampoline has a weight limit of up 250 lbs. This weight capacity is fairly huge considering the size of the product. This means it’s perfect for most people who are well beyond their BMI and would like to lose weight.
If you weigh more than 250 lbs, you should still be able to use this rebounder but you need to be aware that the bungee cords will tend to snap easily. Additionally, it will definitely void the manufacturer’s warranty. I believe 10 lbs heavier than the weight capacity should be ok but not more than that.
You may want to check the JumpSport PRO version if you know that you weigh over 250 lbs.
Dimension
The manufacturer states that JumpSport 250 has a bouncing surface of 1030 square inches. This is the area that you get from this fitness trampoline that measures 39 inches in diameter, including the frame and the arched legs.
A petal skirt covers the top of the cords which adds 5.5″ to the jump area. The actual jumping mat has a diameter of 30 inches.
This is more than enough room for simple bounces or jogging in place. If you’re planning to do jumping jacks or other variety, the jumping area should be able to accommodate them easily as well.
The jumping pad is 12 inches off the ground. The height is not too low that you would have to worry about touching bottom.
If you’re planning to use this indoors, the ceiling should be 2 feet higher than the sum of your height and the height of the Jumpsport 250 fitness trampoline. A minimal of 2 ft vertical clearance should be enough since you’ll only be doing rebounding exercises.
Frame
The frame and the legs are made of heavy-duty steel. It’s lightweight enough to relocate the mini-trampoline easily but sturdy enough to keep it from sliding while you’re bouncing. The steel is coated with a durable 2-coat black finish which protects it from rust and adds durability.
It has 6 legs which are arched for added stability. As mentioned earlier, this design is unique to JumpSport 250 fitness trampolines. It helps prevent it from tipping over which is an important factor with rigorous rebounding workouts. The legs also have rubber caps to keep it from sliding on smooth surfaces.
Design
Spring-based rebounders are generally more bouncy than those using cords or bands. This JumpSport 250 seems like a big exception, though. The 30 EnduroLast cords used on this model offers a smooth and soft bouncing experience.
These bungee cords are very durable and can last for a while except for some few isolated cases where they snap after a few months of use. However, it is also important to point out that using cords instead of springs is a better choice when it comes to safety.
For one, there are no pinch points to worry about, which is a common accident with spring-based trampolines. When a spring breaks it can fly off dangerously. On the other hand, a snapped cord or band poses no risks for injuries, plus a single broken band will not compromise the bouncing experience.
If you’re living in a second-floor apartment, you don’t need to worry disturbing your neighbors downstairs.
Additional Features
Aside from the actual fitness trampoline, it also comes with an exercise DVD. This DVD contains recommended workout routines and some useful tips that can help you get started immediately. In case you find the exercises lacking or not suitable, you can always check a lot of free training videos from YouTube.
If you have difficulties with coordination or balance, I would advise that you also get a stabilizer bar. The 39” Handlebar from the same brand fits snugly with the JumpSport 250 model. It replaces 2 of the legs which makes integration very seamless.
While this bar is especially good for seniors, it is also great for those who wanted to have a more aggressive workout. It opens up new possibilities in taking your rebounding exercises to the next level.
Setting Up
Assembly is very easy because the trampoline is almost completely assembled right out of the box. You just need to attach the legs and that it. It usually just takes 10 minutes, or even 5 minutes for people who are mechanically inclined.
Compared to cheaper models, you no longer need to unfold Jumpsport 250 Fitness trampoline to set it up which is a great cause of frustration to a lot of people. Additionally, you can do everything by yourself.
To screw the legs in place, you will need to use an Allen wrench hex key which is already provided by the manufacturer. Disassembly is just as easy since you only need to remove the legs. However, they are not intended to be removed frequently, except only for long storage.
This rebounder is primarily designed for indoor use. You can use it on carpet, hardwood, or concrete. The important thing is that the floor should be leveled.
If you decide to purchase this JumpSport 250 Fitness Trampoline, make sure to check for the DVD first. It is normally taped to the box where most people often fail to notice. At any rate, you can easily request for the DVD from the manufacturer and they’ll ship it to you at no cost.
Consumer Ratings
JumpSport 250 received a very high average rating from customers who bought it on Amazon. Most of them are very much satisfied with the quality of the product and the actual bouncing they experienced. The low-impact bounce makes the workout very effective and yet gentle on the joints.
The major gripe that people had with this model is that the cords tend to snap easily. It’s not actually a common thing but when it does, you will need to buy a new one. The 5-year manufacturer’s warranty does not cover the damages due to wear and tear.
If you find this extensive review lacking in some points, I would strongly suggest for you to check other reviews from Amazon too. Sometimes it helps to hear opinions from more people before making a sound decision.
Pros
- 10 minutes frustration-free assembly time
- Strong elastic bungee cords offer soft and deep bouncing
- 6 arched legs help prevent from tipping over
- Petal cover on cords adds more jumping space
Cons
- Cords are not actually covered by warranty
Verdict
If you’re a first-time buyer you should go with this model. There’s almost no assembly required and since it’s not using springs, it is a lot safer too. Even if you already own a rebounder, you should consider upgrading to JumpSport 250. You’ll immediately feel the difference in stability and jumping experience.
There is a reason why JumpSport 250 Fitness Trampoline is used by a lot of gyms these days. Aside from being durable, it also offers a superior rebounding experience. As a matter of fact, it is one of our best models this year.
